What Even Is a Health Coach?

Health Coaches are new to the healthcare system. Here’s why the role they play is a crucial one.

Odds are you’re sitting there saying “what even is a health coach….?”

Health is super simple. But that doesn’t mean it’s easy. That’s why there are health coaches. When you’re sick, you know to go to the doctor. When you’re having trouble creating and maintaining a lifestyle change, that’s when you go to a health coach. Doctors are likely telling you to make sure you’re managing your stress, moving your body, and eating the right foods. It makes sense when you’re sitting in the room, but what happens when you leave the office? Do you actually make any of the changes? Listen - it can be overwhelming to make changes. If it was easy, we’d all be happy, optimally healthy humans walking around.

And yet, we’re not. This is where health coaches come into play. We’re pretty new to the healthcare system, and the role we play is more important than ever in helping people live healthily and happily.

Look around - you see more gyms than ever, more supplements than ever, a growing wellness industry etc. So why are we unhappier and unhealthier than ever? The secret is that the real work doesn’t come from outside yourself. It doesn’t start with spending money on supplements and a gym membership you never use. It starts with you. With your mindset. With learning about yourself and how you operate. It starts with a health coach who helps you create sustainable changes that will last for life.

As a holistic health coach, I empower you to make those lifestyle changes that help you grow in whatever area you’re looking to change – whether that’s nutrition, movement, or just learning the basics of health in general. Instead of continuing to mask symptoms, being holistically healthy means working from the root in all areas of life to help you grow.

Each health coach has their own flare, and mine is helping people feel like they’re living life, not working it away. We get one shot at this life. One! And it turns out that by engaging in healthy practices, you’ll start feeling that much more alive. Health isn’t just eating vegetables and working out. Health is your relationships, social life, career, joy, spirituality etc. It’s how you show up for all of these different aspects of life.

So if you just read all of that and are saying “wow, yeah” – let’s chat. I’m here for you. Let’s live life.

Make it a good day,

Lauren
