Five Mindset Shifts to Transform Your Health

YOUR BELIEF SYSTEM

Creating sustainable, long lasting change first starts with acknowledging that you have the ability to transform your belief system. Whatever you believe about yourself, others, and life is true. If you constantly tell yourself you can’t do something, you will believe that you can’t do that thing. On the other hand, if you tell yourself you can do something, with conscious effort – you will be able to accomplish said thing. This is called having a limiting belief system vs an abundant mindset.

A limiting belief system is a way of thinking that limits your view of both yourself and the world– it acts as a block to the path of reaching your full potential and growth. It’s seeing the glass half empty instead of half full. On the other hand, an abundant mindset means consciously cultivating positive thoughts that pave the way for resilience, discipline and belief in the self.

Words carry energy. They create your reality. Everyone tells themselves their own narratives of life. We create stories to help us make sense of the world. Sometimes these stories make us feel better and other times they make us feel worse.

If we shape our life experience through words, why not use them as purposeful tools?

COMMON LIMITING BELIEFS

When it comes to health, these are some of the most common limiting beliefs I hear:

  • I don't have time

  • Being healthy is too expensive

  • It’s too hard

  • I give things my all or nothing

Transforming your health means replacing an old belief with a new one that better serves you. When upgrading your belief system and creating an abundant mindset, you want to pick the next best thought and make it believable. Check out these mindset shifts below that carry a big impact:

MINDSET SHIFTS

  1. I don’t have to, I get to

  2. A little is better than nothing at all

  3. I am on this journey because I love myself, not because I need to fix myself

  4. I intentionally take time to notice what is going well for me

  5. I am a creator of my life, not a victim of it

As a health coach, it’s my job to support you in reframing your thoughts and beliefs.

I invite you to ask yourself where your limiting beliefs pop up. Just noticing when and where they appear is the first step to lasting transformation.
